As part of the Physical Education Curriculum students at Mildred C. Wells Academy visit the Benton Harbor-St. Joseph YMCA each week. They participate in activities in the gym learning and practicing skills that will help them lead a healthy life. Students also use the pool to learn water safety and swimming.

Through the Positive Behavior Support program students are able to attend special events and outings such as; field trips to Warren Dunes State Park, rollerskating events, movies, bowling, and other events that acknowledge positive behavior in all school settings.
